In my nearly half century of using Leicas, if things are properly calibrated, neither verticals nor horizontals are misaligned regardless of distance. However, one's eye placement can sometimes make it appear that things are improperly aligned.

Thats what i would have thought but perhaps as you suggest it was eye placement. Thank you
