Hi All- I have read my manual, looked everywhere online, but cannot find where I can set the minimum shutter speed for my SL.

I want to set the camera to not shoot below 1/60, when shooting in aperture priority.

I suppose if it's not possible, I could shoot in shutter priority, but I don't want to only shoot at 1/60.

Typically, I can shoot in A-Priority with a minimum shutter speed (even on my old Leica M9!!!).

Any help you can give is GREATLY appreciated. THanks!

You can sort of do it with the Auto ISO settings where you can set a shutter speed limit. This means that once the shutter speed reaches your limit (1/60) the camera will start increasing ISO instead.

This will work as long as the camera can raise the ISO, once the upper ISO limit is reached it will increase the shutter speed again.

So with a limit of 1/60s and ISO 6400 and a fixed aperture and darkening light the camera will

  1. Increase shutter speed while it is less or equal to 1/60 and then
  2. Increase ISO until it equals 6400 and then
  3. Increase shutter speed

Hi- @Joakim- thank you so much for the reply. I think myself (and some others) have mistaken the term 'maximum exposure time' for highest shutter speed setting, when actually it is the lowest speed (which equals the maximum exposure time). It was pretty simple once I tried it! Setting 'maximum exposure time' to 1/60th... This is the solution for setting minimum shutter speed.

problem solved on my favorite digital camera i've used!!!!
