A colleague is off to Iceland in 4 weeks and as well as his Leicas will be taking his 7x5 field camera ... black and white 7x5 film is not a problem but his normal supplier of 7x5 colour neg. stock, ie B&H New York, now only supplies minimum quantities of 60 boxes costing $11,217 ... previously they supplied in smaller quantities. Does anyone on this forum know of any European suppliers who sell 7x5 colour neg sheet film in smaller quantities ... any leads would be appreciated.

Thanks

I don't think there are any 5x7 color negative films manufactured as a standard item any more (portra was discontinued a year ago, still available as a large quantity special order). I think your friend may have to either find old stock somewhere, switch to color transparency (velvia and provia are available), or get a rototrim and a box of 8x10 film.

I forgot one other option---in Los Angeles, there was (maybe still is) a place called Photo Warehouse that custom cuts film to any size for what folks have told me is a reasonable price. Google finds them, so you could call and see if they could help convert a box of 8x10 into 5x7 reasonably.

Good luck,

Clyde
