Up till now I’ve mostly been using M mount lenses via the adapter. So used to using the joystick push to zoom in with the EyeRes.

With the 24-90 I put the camera in Mf mode in a darker situation thinking I could do the same with the joystick push, so see closed for focusing manually. It seemed to push the focus more out with each push??? I may have missed something in the menus, so appreciate some help with how to get a focus zoom on this lens in manual mode 🙂

appreciate your thoughts

I set the camera to MF, and put AF-S on joystick, to disengage AF from shutter button. I then set focus ring to magnify with turn to fine tune, if needed. I disable peaking.

I didn’t think there was a way to enable 3x magnify (With focus peaking) while manually focusing on the SL 601outside of using the lower left button. How do you enable/set the focus ring to do this?  I might be missing something as I’d love the ability to move 3x zoom to a function button or some place more convenient that the default lower left button. Thanks.

Sorry for the confusion, I should have specified that I use the SL2.  I thought the same options were available on the SL, even if the buttons or menu items to choose each differs, but I might be wrong.  (One of the nice features on the SL2 is that one can look in the VF or back screen, hold down each function button, and all possible function options appear so one can click on a function and then that’s what appears with each subsequent short press. One additional menu option on the SL2 is to use the focus ring to magnify.)
