I have just switched to LEICA, to the SL2 with the 50mm APO-SUMMICRON-SL. Instead of buying the 35mm of the SL-lens lineup I opted for the purchase of a Q2 und thus not having to change lenses on the go. For the 50mm I have bought 67mm B+W filters and the polarizer and in order to keep it simple would like to use those filters on the Q2 as well.

Problem is, that the sun shade of the Q2 does not allow me to allocate a step down adapter from 67mm to the 49mm filter size of the Q2.

Seeking for a solution I found the so called „ventilated lens shades“ of Thorsten von Overgaard for the Q2:

https://www.overgaard.dk/Thorsten-von-Overgaard-Gallery-Store-Hardware-for-Photography-LeicaQ-Typ116-Ventilated-Lens-Shade.html

My question here is if anybody has this lens shade and if it would allow to allocate that 67mm to 49mm adapter to fit together with it.

Or is there any other suggestion as to how to use those 67mm nd filters together with a mounted lens shade. Whatever solution it should keep things simple and not require much space in my photo bag.

Very much looking forward to comments,

Peter

@Ning Ning

Thank you very much, I ordered that lens hood on eBay already, looks nice, very similar to those of Overgaard, at a fraction of the price. Hadn’t seen that one, thanks for posting it.

But my intention is to use the same filters on the Q2, so that I don’t have to carry a second set with me. I not only need a polarizer, but also three ND filters (3stops, 6stops and 10stops).

But I’ll see whether this hood you recommended to me leaves space for stepped down 67mm filters . . .
