Jamie Roberts Posted August 13, 2007 Share #5 Posted August 13, 2007 Very good shots indeed; how did you scan them, if you don't mind my asking? My young son would be just in fits at a place like this! I have to find a good steam train to show him soon!
samwells Posted August 13, 2007 Share #6 Posted August 13, 2007 Keith - great series, with a tremendous feeling of heaviness and mass...epsecially like no. 3 (aaah, those rivets!) and no. 5. cheers: Sam
cocker Posted August 13, 2007 Author Share #7 Posted August 13, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) Thanks everyone for your kind comments. Jamie - I scan with an EPSON V750 Pro. I Scanned in 16bit HDR Greyscale with Silverfast Ai Studio then convert the resulting HDR files with Silverfast HDR Studio. I have used "plain" Silverfast, Vuescan and the Epson software before but find the HDR route to give by far the best results. It takes a little longer but it has a batch scanning facility so you can set 24 frames running and get on with something else. It has reinvigorated my interest in using film after struggling with my previous scanner and software.
