graeme_clarke Posted April 10, 2020 Share #1  Posted April 10, 2020 Advertisement (gone after registration) Not noticed this before when I've used flash, so help or advice needed please. Settings SL fitted with R 100 f2.8 macro and R-L adapter. Metz 40MZ2 with older model 3502 adapter. Tried with both A and M settings. What happens Aperture priority -both top and rear screens blink. Top screen shows shutter speed fluctuates between metered level and 1/60 , rear screen also shows shutter speed fluctuating the same as top screen, about once per second. If camera taken to area where brighter ambient light requires shutter speed faster than 1/60s then shutter speed fluctuation stops. Manual - top screen shows shutter speed set, eg 1/125, rear screen blinks light then darker (not black) about once per second. When shutter speed altered manually to "correct" setting blinking rear screen much less noticeable. when shutter speed much slower or faster than actually needed, blinking is more noticeable. What I'd like to do is to set a fastish shutter speed (1/125s) and allow the flash to either freeze action rather than camera set a very slow one which can create some motion blur, or to fill-in illumination where needed. Any thoughts please? Stay safe and well. Graeme
