Jim D Posted April 10, 2020 Share #1 Â Posted April 10, 2020 Advertisement (gone after registration) I am new to the SL2 and Vario 24-90. Â Absolutely loving the camera / lens combo. Â I noticed that when focused and I press the shutter 1/2 way the distance meter on top of camera is not even close (back focus front). Â I can be focused on something 10ft away and it says I am focused 1 ft with a .9 and 1.1 ft front and back distance at F8? Am I missing a setting or something - any thoughts welcome. Advertisement Posted April 10, 2020 Posted April 10, 2020 Hi Jim D, Take a look here Depth of field scale on Vario 24=90?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Jeff S Posted April 10, 2020 Share #2  Posted April 10, 2020 Odd... I just tried mine, as well as the SL75, and both show near 3m on all 3 settings.  I use back button AF, so settings engage after I tweak focus manually (engaging magnification) and half press shutter. It can be a quick way to show hyperfocal distance for landscape work. Jeff

Does this have something to do with this issue reported here? Â Edited April 10, 2020 by michali
Jeff S Posted April 10, 2020 Share #4  Posted April 10, 2020 That’s likely the problem. For now, just switch to metric. Jeff
