Googs Posted April 9, 2020 Share #1 Posted April 9, 2020 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi, I was wondering if one of the experts could help me? I would like to understand how the crop factor for the 35mm, 50mm and 75mm relates in comparison to utilizing a real Summilux lens at each of the different focal lengths. What is the difference in image quality? I notice the 75mm drags the megapixel count down to 7 MP. There must be a noticeable difference.

nicci78 Posted April 10, 2020 Share #2 Posted April 10, 2020 Please consider that Q2 is equivalent to these four lenses : Summilux-Q 28mm f/1.7 Summicron-Q 35mm f/2.1 Elmarit-Q 50mm f/3.0 Elmar-Q 75mm f/4.6 7 MP with 75mm crop and tiny tiny frame lines (only 11% of the screen) are the real limiting factors to use 75mm 15 MP for 50mm is more than ok. However 50mm crop is a tad wider than typical 50mm on full frame. They are marketed as 50mm when in reality they are all 52mm lenses. Just spot for the tiny 02 next to distance scale of 50mm M lenses. Add 02 to 50, you get 52mm. Once again very small frame lines are also the limiting factor for 50mm crop. Only 30% of the screen is used. please check my post for more information 1
