dkCambridgeshire Posted March 3, 2020 Share #1 Posted March 3, 2020 (edited) Advertisement (gone after registration) X1 fitted with ZACUTO optical finder … self adhesive Zacuto Z-Finder 3" SNAP FIT MOUNTING FRAME is a tight fit but it JUST clears the camera's control buttons and setting dial Magnified WYSIWYG view through the Zacuto optical finder is excellent … but I cannot use it 'in anger' until the self adhesive has fully cured (24 hours cure time) Looks bulky but ergonomics with the X1 hand grip fitted are good … Zacuto finder weighs 250g and it 'clips' on and off the mounting frame. Zacuto eyepiece has diopter correction and good eye relief for those wearing glasses … but if eyepiece lens is adjusted for individual's eyesight there is no need to wear glasses .. assuming eyes do not have astigmatism etc issues. Plan too use combination asap including use with Leitz / Leica supplementary close-up lenses Note that X1 hot shoe can now be used with a flashgun … with eye level composition … no more holding camera at e.g. arm elbow length I sourced two Zacuto finders via Ebay for less than £50 each Apologies for Q&D pics but hope they might be of interest. dkCambridgeshire Posted March 3, 2020 Author Share #5 Posted March 3, 2020 (edited) I've been using Zacuto finders on a Nikon 1 J5 for 2 years … no EVF or accessory EVF available for the J5 … the Zacuto finder transforms the J5 into a usable Nikon 1 camera with the best sensor of any of the Nikon 1 series . Rubber bands necessary as has articulated screen . Following +ve experience with the J5 I decided to try the Zacuto with the Leica X1 Welcome, dear visitor!
