Joe Colson Posted February 27, 2020 Share #1  Posted February 27, 2020 Advertisement (gone after registration) I asked Justin Waldinger at Tap & Dye to make an adjustable leather strap for my SL2. It's not in his catalog but is similar to his standard adjustable strap. The result is excellent and he may add it to his catalog if there is sufficient interest. More details here. I'm not affiliated with Tap & Dye in any way and pay full price for my straps.  Welcome, dear visitor! Advertisement Posted February 27, 2020 Posted February 27, 2020 Hi Joe Colson, Take a look here Tap & Dye Leather Strap for the SL2. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
richardhagen Posted February 27, 2020 Share #2 Â Posted February 27, 2020 (edited) The strap looks great and the leather will only get nicer with age. The problem for me is that I hate metal or plastic buckles on a camera strap. Very often I shove the camera in a bag and no matter how careful I do it, the metal buckle could scratch the screen, etc. I prefer all leather. Maybe some sort of leather cover velcroed over the metal bucket would work so that only leather comes in touch with the camera. I find the slightly stretchable fabric straps actually feel the most comfortable and durable, but just not fashionable. So I choose mine with dark black, no pattern. Leaving the sexy highlights to the camera itself. Â
Joe Colson Posted February 28, 2020 Author Share #4 Â Posted February 28, 2020 For me, not too narrow. I like an almost inconspicuous leather strap, but have other straps including a few UPstraps, a Peak Design strap, and the original Leica SL2 strap. In a way, they're like fashion accessories while providing a secure carrying means. I'm not a fan of the stretchable straps because they tend to accentuate camera bounce when hiking or walking. Joe If it is bouncing then it is too much stretchable. It should be just barely stretchable. Otherwise it would be as bad as the solid leather. The one I like looks like the stretchable jeans.   Edited February 29, 2020 by Einst_Stein
