stunsworth Posted August 9, 2007 Share #21 Posted August 9, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) Tony, the only cameras that needed to be returned were early ones. There were some early issues that required a hardware upgrade to correct. The same upgrade was included in new cameras from a certain point - sorry can't remember exactly when. carstenw Posted August 9, 2007 Share #22 Posted August 9, 2007 What do you mean when you say that "each camera needing to return to Solms at least once"? I just ordered an M8. Are you saying I need to return it for some adjustment that the updated firmware and filters will not fix? I meant more around the introduction, with the hardware changes the early models needed. Still, there are enough cameras still being sold with focusing problems, dead red segments in the viewfinder, dead segments in the battery life/remaining picture LCD and so on that there is always the risk. It seems to be getting under control by now, but there are still stories. I would plan on having to send it at least once, to avoid the disappointment, but once it works properly, it is an awesome camera.
