Learner Posted August 26, 2007 Share #44 Â Posted August 26, 2007 Caveat Emptor, Â You should know that there is an an issue with the screens of the new 15 inch MBPs... yellow screens, esp in bottom third. Â This applies to both matte and glossy screens, and both sources, Samsung and LG, though the Samsung screens are more faulty. Don't know if it applies to the 17 inch. Â Now, it may be that the faulty screens are being flushed out of the system. Â To discover more, got to http://www.macrumors,com ... then click the "Forums" tab ... then enter the wor "yellow" in the Search panel.
Guest guy_mancuso Posted August 26, 2007 Share #45 Â Posted August 26, 2007 I just replaced my 2.16 NBP with a new 15 inch glssy 2.4 MBP amd the differnce is really amazing in speed but I also bought a stock unit than bought 4gb of ram than bought a Hitachi 200bg 16 mg cache 7200 drive and that is what is making a big differnce is the 16mg cache , now 4gb is nothing to sneeze at either and I have no yellow cast as was reported, I checked before I left the store. have to say i have a MacPro desktop 2.66 dual-core with 6gb of ram but the dual core 2 in the Macbook Pro is embrassing it, i guess the 2 version is a huge step up
