Davevonfintel Posted January 20, 2020 Share #1 Posted January 20, 2020 Advertisement (gone after registration) Anyone found a quality variable ND filter thin enough to fit the Q2 with the supplied lens hood? I have a B&W version but just wide enough so I can’t use my hood with it. Am I the only one who likes a variable nd filter on my lens, ready to go for certain slower shutter scenarios? Would love the hood on there too for protection.
Advertisement Posted January 20, 2020 Posted January 20, 2020 Hi Davevonfintel, Take a look here Variable ND filter with lens hood. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
sfphoto Posted January 21, 2020 Share #2 Posted January 21, 2020 I am thinking of designing and 3D-printing an adapter that slides over the hood and has a 77mm thread for all my filters I use on my Fujifilm X-H1. This way I do not have to remove the hood, which I use permanently to protect the lens (and it is a pain to get back on straight). I may need to use one of my spare step-up rings and glue it to this adapter to have a proper thread to screw the filters in... I can make it a priority if anybody else is interested 🙂

For streetfotography I like to be ready to shoot anything so having a variable ND filter on my lens with the protection of the hood on top, would be ideal.
