SL2 & Sigma 45mm L - Manual Mode & Aperture Priority = Only Options Available

I've just noticed that when I mount the Sigma 45mm F2.8 L on the SL2, I don't get the P-A-S-M option. Only M & A are available.  With the same lens mounted on the SL601 & CL however, all 4 exposure options are available.

I reset the camera and M & A are again the only options available. It only does this with this lens.

Anyone else with the 45mm Sigma lens please check this and feedback.

Thanks

Mike

Hello Michali.

I have access to all 4 PASM modes with the Sigma 45 when mounted on the SL2, the same as when mounted on the SL.

When mounting the lens on the body, I need to push the rotation a little further then with the Leica lenses, to ensure there is the «click». Did you check that, when indeed « fully » assembled, you still don’t have the expected 4 modes ? I think about this since it is the behavior of the M lenses.

Thank you for the feedback Bohns, appreciated. I've tried what you suggested and it still only gives me M & A. As I mentioned earlier the lens shows all 4 PASM modes on my SL & CL.

When I check the MENU on pg. 3 under "Exposure Preview" it shows P-A-S-M as being available. I recently updated the lens FW to Vers. 1.1 maybe I should retry installing the lens firmware via the SL2, if that's possible.  It's not really a big deal I mostly shoot in Manual & Aperture priority modes anyway. I'm just wondering why?

EDIT: Tried reinstalling the update, it tells me that the lens FW vers. is the same as that already installed.

It's either a contact issue or something that I've inadvertently set in a Menu somewhere.

Do you need to put the aperture ring in the 'A' position to access shutter-priority and program modes?

Thank you Bernard that's sorted it out.

On the SL601 & CL you don't need to this. Much appreciate your input.

Best, Mike
