Bobby Posted December 21, 2019 Share #1  Posted December 21, 2019 Advertisement (gone after registration) I recently purchased a brand new Leica 28mm 2.8. The aperture ring is a bit looser than my 50mm f2.0. Is this by design? If not, would it be easy to have it fixed at the Leica store? t's not a big deal, but it'd be nice if there was little bit more friction.
Advertisement Posted December 21, 2019 Posted December 21, 2019 Hi Bobby, Take a look here Loose aperture ring 28mm lens. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Mute-on Posted December 21, 2019 Share #2  Posted December 21, 2019 I have the same lens. The aperture ring is looser (moves with less resistance) than my 50 Summicron V5, and all my other lenses from 35 Summaron to 90 Elmarit-M. However, all of these are brass construction, while the 28 is aluminium. I suspect it is a characteristic of the lens design and construction. It is no problem in use, and has not loosened over time.
