sebas_ Posted February 17, 2020 Share #21  Posted February 17, 2020 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hello again, I have just got a very helpful answer back form Leica. A college from the support uses the following combination for using the SL2 with a time-lapse device: Adapter: https://www.amazon.de/gp/product/B07MHGB3PS/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o06_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Cable: https://www.amazon.de/gp/product/B00TOM64OQ/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 I have just ordered the combination and will test it out with my motorised Pano head.
Advertisement Posted February 17, 2020 Posted February 17, 2020 Hi sebas_, Take a look here Remote Cable Release SL2. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
fotonutzz Posted February 19, 2020 Share #22  Posted February 19, 2020 (edited) So, I guess there are no 3rd party cable release that will work with the SL2.  What a bummer Just don’t understand why they had to make the cable release proprietary.....definitely ain’t for the money. Lenter Posted February 19, 2020 Author Share #23 Â Posted February 19, 2020 Hi Fotonutzz, thanks for your response. It's a strange story. The cable release is still not available in the Netherlands. And if I order it from Leica in Germany, they don't deliver abroad ... So I just have to be patient. The next question is whether a 4-wire extension cable will work ... sebas_ Posted February 20, 2020 Share #24  Posted February 20, 2020 I should receive my cable & adapter configuration by tomorrow and will update it as soon as I’ve tested the combination. If it works, with my motorized panorama head it could be a solution to use it with another sender, which offers a 2,5 TRS outlet as the cable and adapter converts this signal to a 3,5 TRRS connection.  Another idea. The Hasselblad X1D has also a 3,5mm input for the remote release. I don’t find any pictures of their remote, which shows, if it is using a TRS or TRRS connection.  The pictures online don’t show the full plug.

megamanex Posted February 21, 2020 Share #26 Â Posted February 21, 2020 I'm going to try on my end as well. I couldn't find an american version that matched the main cable (the adapter isn't the issue, I've tried 4 different types of cables to no avail) so I purchased the same one from amazon germany. It'll be at least a week until it arrives in the US and I'll let you all know if it works on my end as well. Thanks!

Lenter Posted June 14, 2020 Author Share #29 Â Posted June 14, 2020 Hello cable friends, In the meantime, I bought an original SL2 cable release from Leica. And a 5-pole extension cable of 3 meters. It works fine. Thanks Photoworks for the detailed drawing. I will see if I can convert the SL1 cable into a working model for SL2.

Wow.....thanks for the link.  This will be great for someone who needs to use a wireless trigger.  The cabled remote is just too short.
ahl Posted June 16, 2020 Share #32  Posted June 16, 2020 You can use any S1R release with a TRRS adapter; that is described as an audio adapter not a gaming adapter. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2-5mm-Female-Stereo-to-3-5mm-Male-Stereo-AUX-Adapter-Socket-Jack-Plug-Audio-MP3/273438234626?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649 The adapters are very cheap and work without a problem as confirmed by Leica Mayfair. I go into greater detail in my post in this forum about cables but , I can vouch, the setup works just as well with a wireless trigger.
