woodyspedden Posted August 5, 2007 Share #2 Posted August 5, 2007 Hey Gary, Nice shot. The rocket looks like a Thor Delta but I have never seen the circular cluster of the little solid fuel rockets before. What are they? Woody Spedden

Guest sirvine Posted August 5, 2007 Share #4 Posted August 5, 2007 You want Bush to be President of Mars?! Gary, how do you get so close to the launcher before the big day?
Philinflash Posted August 5, 2007 Share #5 Posted August 5, 2007 Nice shot! The thang has more decals on it than a 60's dragster. I guess they figure the Martians are impressionable. But I don't think they would elect GWB.

girphoto Posted August 5, 2007 Author Share #7 Posted August 5, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) You want Bush to be President of Mars?! Gary, how do you get so close to the launcher before the big day? Well. this was an un-maned launch. Being part of the NASA Wire Pool and working for a major wire service, getting close is not a problem. Working in 104 degree weather covered in DEET, now there is the problem. Shot # 2 was done during the Tower roll-back with the ISO @ 640, SHUTTER SPEED AT 320 WITH MY CV 50 mm Nokton 1.5 at 1.5 (Thanks to Sean Reed for the great heads up on this lense, it save me aboy $3,000 over what I was going to buy). Shot # 3 is my friend Chuck setting up his remote cameras shot at ISO160 with my 28 f2.8 WB cloudy, comp -1/3 and sofware release at 1.107 Later in the week comming we have the launch of shuttle Endeavour.
