IkarusJohn Posted November 19, 2019 Share #21 Ā Posted November 19, 2019 Advertisement (gone after registration) I initially planned to use the SL with my M lenses (preferring primes, and having a nice selection of M lenses). Ā But when I came to confirm my order, I decided at least one SL lens would be a good idea. Ā It didnāt disappoint! Ā The 24-90 focal range is the heart of most photography, and not having to change lenses is a boon. Over the years since the SL has been released, Iāve re-examined what I do. Ā While the 24-90 remains a great lens,Ā Iāve found that I prefer the wider zoom (I like wides) and a fast prime (50 Summilux-SL/Noctilux 0.95 or the fabulous 75 Summicron-SL). Ā You canāt go wrong, but the choice should really be your preferred focal length and speed of the lens (for depth of field options) - they will determine the quality of your images and the pleasure you gain from the system more than what you read here - your own direct experience weighs more heavily than speculation of others.
