So glad to have come across this forum.  I just purchased a M9 Monochrom from BH Photo and have two question.

1) I was told it was “serviced” and a the sensor was replaced, although there is documentation of that.  Does anyone know how I can verify this - Leica?  In the camera?

2) What SD cards do users recommend with this - a specific model would be great.  It sounds like there are potential issues, so I thought I would get expert opinion.  I started with some cheap ones and do note that the camera can get caught up with transferring images and I miss a few shots.

Thanks

BS

Good evening hundredwaters,

Congratulations to this wonderful Camera which I also use now since 4 Years.  After Sensor replacement the new Firmware No. is 1.022. I was told that the new one  works with this Upgrade  only

No.  2. I personally use a Scan Disk Extreme 16GB 45MB/sec. For me this combination works fine.

To lern more about the MM1, please visit the Homepage of Thorsten von Overgaard  he is a Danish Fotographer. Or Steve Huff, who has also an excellent Home Page.

I wish you a lot of wonderful monochrome pictures. Besides also old Leica lenses like the summicron  2 rigid and the Elmar M 2,8 50 mm works quite good withe the M9M.

Lot of Greetings from Andreas  ( Fleetenkiecker ) ,  located  Munich / Bavaria / Germany

Contact Leica Germany with the serial#.  Early sensor replacements did not provide corrosion free sensors.

For SD cards. this might help, albeit a bit dated...

Or a call to a good dealer like Leica Miami will answer the question, and maybe cards in stock.

Enjoy.

Regarding your first question:

You can access a service menu by pressing the following with the camera powered on:

Delete -> up (2x) -> down (4x) -> left (3x) -> right (3x) -> Info

Then, in the menu, select hardware IDS. If CCD ID shows 53, the sensor has been replaced. if CCID shows 52, it has not.
