LocalHero1953 Posted October 26, 2019 Share #1 Posted October 26, 2019 Advertisement (gone after registration) It looks like the Leica battery BP-DC12, which is used in the VLUX, Q and CL is the same as the BP-51 which is used in some of the Sigma Quattro series and the imminent Sigma fp. I have a Sigma fp on order; first reports suggest battery life is short, and it doesn't come with a charger - it can be charged in camera via the USB port. Since I already have the CL, three batteries and two chargers (a Leica original and a Nitecore USB charger), it would be really handy not to have to buy more batteries and a new charger. Does anyone know if these actually are interchangeable? Since they have the same nominal spec (7.2V, 1200mAh, 8.7Wh), if they both fit both cameras, what could go wrong? Advertisement Posted October 26, 2019 Posted October 26, 2019 Hi LocalHero1953, Take a look here Battery interchangeability: VLUX/Q/CL & Sigma fp/Quattro. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Athornton Posted October 26, 2019 Share #2 Posted October 26, 2019 Hi Paul Batteries are interchangeable so no need to buy any more. Still too early to know about battery life as it always takes a while for the internal clock battery to charge and I’m spending proportionately more time getting to know the camera and menus than shooting initially. I have just ordered the Nitecore charger and another battery as I only had the charger for the CL and one spare battery. Enjoy the camera when it arrives!
