DaveEP Posted August 3, 2007 Share #1 Posted August 3, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) Having seen several posts about how long it takes Lecia to turn round faulty M8s, and more talking about that time extending due to the holiday season, I sent my M8 to Leica around the middle of July for repair. It needed two things fixing: 1) The power switch required a half shutter press to actually power on 2) The Sensor had developed a proble where a vertical line appeared on all shots slower than about 1/8th second. Well, it just turned up at my door completely fixed - turn around time of just over two weeks! THANK YOU LEICA !

RMF Posted August 3, 2007 Share #2 Posted August 3, 2007 Yes, Leica NJ received and returned a replacement body to me in one weeks time (Actually less if you discount shipping time). I had the thin vertical line as well; mostly appearing at 640iso and above. My new M8 is perfect and in fact has a better shutter release, tighter speed dial, and stiffer on/off switch. Mine appears to be a brand new model and not a refurb. Thanks Leica NJ.
norm_snyder Posted August 3, 2007 Share #3 Posted August 3, 2007 Yes!! I'm back in business, too. A completely failed camera, replaced in less than two weeks by Leica NJ. Robert Fisk was helpful, and did what he said he would. NS
