bluesky401319 Posted September 17, 2019 Share #1 Posted September 17, 2019 Advertisement (gone after registration) I have several Leica and non-Leica lens and wanted to try it on a digital Leica. For some reason I decided to try the Leica CL and find it really comfortable to use, even with the old M-lens. Recently I put the legendary 21mm Biogon (symmetrical design) from the Contarex Mount to CL and it works well, it was quite a surprise to me. Just unscrew the rear ring and it is ready to shoot. Thanks for the ‘shorter’ lens size (compare to the super Angulon ) it doesn’t go so deep into the body. I’ve tried this lens on the Minolta CLE and I can still use the AE function. The IQ from this combination ist quite good, except the vignetting issue. But this can easily be corrected in the LR. This is truly an amazing lens from its time. Welcome, dear visitor! tommonego@gmail.com Posted September 17, 2019 Share #2 Posted September 17, 2019 That is one nice lens, had a Contarex, I loaned to a friend and his neck strap broke while he was hanging over the side of a Greek ferry. Anyway Zeiss WA lenses of the time were way ahead of any other company, be nice to see some pictures you take with it. I have some same vintage lenses from a Retina Reflex, nothing I carry around but the 28 seems very good, the 135 is OK with a hood, but the closest focus is 12ft. Lenses made in the 60's can be very good, and it is nice to repurpose them. The vignetting can be from the traditional WA design, my 25 Canon has a minor problem with the CL with color a huge problem with infrared. But never noticed that with my film Leicas, even using infrared.
