Please forgive me if I have missed a post on the Leica SF C1 + SL. I have searched. Has anyone established whether the Leica SF C1 will fire a Nissin D700i? I have a pair which I use as slaves to my SF40. Taking all three flashes off camera would be handy.

In Nissin publication all NAS system flashes respond to SF-C1 Commander.

However when the firmware in the individual flash need to recognise the Leica camera. Therefore any firmware loaded onto flashes before the SF-C1 does not recognise Leica cameras.

Till date, I’ve only gotten the latest firmware (v5) downloaded from Nissin website loaded into Nissin MG10 that works on my Leica M10 and SL.

I’ve tried pairing SF-C1 with earlier Nissin i60, the trigger release on the Leica camera cannot fire the flash despite successful pairing (test button on SF-C1 could fire the i60 flash).

Don’t try on the older i700, you’ll just be wasting your time.

What a shame. And what a mess.

Leica should give up its proprietary hot shoe. Just get into Nikon version bandwagon. Or Olympus/Panasonic in order to share lenses and accessories within the L-mount alliance. Same as the m4/3 alliance.
