jaxon Posted August 30, 2019 Share #1 Posted August 30, 2019 (edited) Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi all, I’m now onto my second Q2 after stupidly selling my first one in a brief moment of financial clarity. But I’ve noticed, as with my first, the lens hood is incredibly difficult to tighten back on after removal, to the point where I’m concerned I’m going to break the lens off its mounting by the sheer force.l being applied. Is this normal? My Q1 never had this issue but may have been as the thread had worn over time. Really don’t want to break this £4K Camera! thanks John Edited August 30, 2019 by jaxon

ralphh Posted August 30, 2019 Share #3 Posted August 30, 2019 (edited) For what it's worth, I put a few TINY blobs of petroleum jelly on the threads. Didn't like the idea of noise oil. Organic oils, esp those mixed with crud can go off over time and I didn't want my rotting noise gunk on my camera. Does up beautifully smooth now. Mine was so tight I considered emailing leica and asking them what the recommended NM for my torque wrench was.
