dkCambridgeshire Posted August 20, 2019 Share #1 Posted August 20, 2019 (edited) Advertisement (gone after registration) I’m considering using a Camtraptions V2 Motion Sensor for wildlife imaging; my application does not require flash use. https://store.camtraptions.com/collections/camera-traps/products/pir-motion-sensor?variant=12965726421075 Camtraptions supplies shutter release cables for use with Canon, Sony, Nikon and Panasonic cameras https://store.camtraptions.com/collections/camera-traps/products/camera-connecting-cables?variant=1095192339 No cable is specifically available for the Leica SL 601 but following my enquiry with Camtraptions was advised: - You would need to purchase a Camera Connecting cable which plugs in the camera's shutter release port, and which has a 3-pole 2.5mm jack at the other end to plug into our products.- The camera should be able to go into sleep mode after a certain period of activity.- The camera should be able to be woken up by either a half press or full press signal through the shutter release port. Has anyone sourced or made such a cable for the SL 601? I’m likely buying the Camtraptions V2 for use with my Sony A7SII, but if a suitable additional cable can be made / sourced, also want to use the motion sensor with my SL 601. Best wishes dunk Edited August 20, 2019 by dkCambridgeshire typo

Best wishes dunk I solved a similar problem, since I wanted to connect the Remote Release of R8 (14 254), which goes into the Universal Handgrip / Shoulder Stock (14 239), to the SL. I bought the Remote Release Cable RC-SCL4 plus the male and female connectors matching the R8 Remote Release of R8 from www.newark.com: BINDER 99 0479 100 08 Circular Connector, 711 Series, Plug, 8, Pin, Solder, Cable Mount BINDER 99 0480 100 08 Circular Connector, 711 Series, Receptacle, 8, Socket, Solder, Cable Mount The female connector was soldered to the part of the cable going to the SL connector and the male one to the SL remote release. At least in my RC-SCL4 the cable colors were blue: common, green: wake up (half press), red: release the shutter. These were connected to pins 1, 8, and 2 of the circular connectors, respectively. Both the SL Remote Release and the R8 Remote Release can now be used with the the SL equally well. Instead of these small connectors you should, of course, use a 3-pole 2.5 mm jack and plug. This may, of course void warranty of the SL, no guarantee it will work with the Camtraptions sensor either but I don't see any reason why not. I hope this helps. - Matti
