I just received my Q2 and plan on exploring Macro photography.  I’ve already purchased a Marumi 200(+5) filter but would like a little more reach.

Can these filters be stacked?  I see they come in +3 and +5 magnification. Any suggestions?  Also, I screwed the Marumi onto my Leica UV Protective Filter.  Is that the preferred method?

thanks for your help  Barry

Check out my post today on the macro thread. In addition, I'd like to give a +1 for the JJC Filter Cover that is available from Amazon. It works so well and is so much more efficient than having little plastic boxes for each filter. I bought a 49mm version for all my Q filters and then a 77mm and 82mm for my Canon filters. So sweet!.

I saw this somewhere on the LUF so thanks whoever posted it first. It was not me.

$10.99 for both covers.

Here are a couple pics:

How do you use a close up filter on the Q2?

I suggest you look at the macro thread. To answer your specific question, the Close Up filter just screws on to the front of the lens. The hood is not used. I do select macro mode on the lens. The last images I posted I had two filters screwed together. It basically allows closer focus and does exhibit a narrower DOF and some softening outside the center 50%.
