LikesLife Posted July 23, 2019 Share #1 Posted July 23, 2019 Advertisement (gone after registration) Good morning after an intensive search in the Web I really Need some advice: have bought a used Nikon Coolscan 5000 and want to work with vuescan on a Mac. Although Vuescan detects the scanner, there seems to be no connection. do I need special drivers? Does anybody has some support? thx so much! adan Posted July 23, 2019 Share #2 Posted July 23, 2019 (edited) I'm currently using Mac Pro, OSX 10.8.3, Vuescan, and a Nikon 5000ED. No problems, no special "driver" needed or installed. Now, I am using the scanner without any hardware add-ons - just the plain slot for slides, with an older Nikon negative strip-carrier (FH-2) that feeds into it. Not the provided "find images" strip device (SA-21?), which I found to be a pain - nor a multi-slide batch feeder. Don't know if that makes a difference. LikesLife Posted July 23, 2019 Author Share #3 Posted July 23, 2019 Thx. Will check my connecting cables. The scanner worked with windows yesterday and I did nothing whether there is need for additional drivers. thx, Michael
