nariza7 Posted July 20, 2019 Share #1 Posted July 20, 2019 Advertisement (gone after registration) Since the Leica Q2 is apparently using a nice sensor, is it possible that with a firmware update, the processing can be improved to better utilize the sensor and handle low light files better? I've been on the fence with sony rx1rii mainly due to size and rx1rii seeming to have better low light ability (like increasing exposure in lightroom and not having as much grain). I've been using a7rii, and I can see how amazing that sensor is with low light at times. The low light part is pushing me closer to rx1rii though. Still having trouble deciding which to go with since rx1rii can be around $2k, and the image quality can better the Leica Q2 (at least thats what I think). Advertisement Posted July 20, 2019 Posted July 20, 2019 Hi nariza7, Take a look here Is it possible for firmware to improve low light ability of Leica Q2 later?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
nicci78 Posted July 20, 2019 Share #2 Posted July 20, 2019 better low light ability of RX1R II is lost with 1/2 stop slower lens. No IS. And slightly faster minimum shutter speed required for a sharp image : being a 35mm vs 28mm.
