I wouldn't see it as odd. Panasonic had the freedom to render the sensor data in the S1R into an image that best suits the sensor – a blank slate if you will – whereas Leica may have felt compelled to swim against the current in order to match the original Q as much as possible.

There concern over rendering seems to come up with every new iteration of a Leica digital camera (except, perhaps, with the M8.2 vs M8 where Leica had to address the IR issues from the original camera).  It always takes a while for photographers to learn how to process images with new cameras—what works for white balance, what pre-set adjustments to hue work best, where the new cameras flaws are, etc.  This issue was, perhaps, most prominent with the M9 to M(240) upgrade when Leica went from CCD to CMOS, but I bet you can find threads with M8.2 to M9, M(240) to M10, M(240) to SL, TL to TL2, etc.  

Even things like default sharpening levels will need to be adjusted, particularly with the sizeable increase in megapixels.  

The simple fact is new cameras and new sensors will not render the same as the previous generation, and we need to adapt.  In general, things tend to improve from one generation to the next, but it isn’t always obvious when cameras first come out, and there are still die hards who swear the M9 at or below ISO400 has never been equaled.

I don’t agree with statement but If that were true then Leica has failed.

That's why I said "...may have..." – I'm just guessing, not making a statement. Maybe it's Adobe not getting the film curve profiles right like they did with the Canon 5DsR for a while. Who knows, I'm only guessing.

Not sure what people are talking about here. I had the Q and now have the Q2 - and think it renders absolutely wonderfully. These are RAWs, adjusted very slightly in LR.
