The Image Stabilisation of the SL 90-280mm lens on the TL2 is not working. A while ago I mentioned this in a previous post (

), but had not done a ton of testing and had not verified. Recently however, I did some further testing and contacted Leica about this, and they confirmed with their equipment the same issue. I tested at shutter speeds of 1/60 and 1/25 of a second and results were very similar. I also tested the TL2 @190mm to rule out effects of crop. But everything results in the same conclusion:

IS on or off on the TL2 has no effect when used with the 90-280 lens.

IS on or off on the SL under similar circumstances has a significant effect.

I'd be interested to hear if others have experienced the same thing. I've heard of people using the CL where IS does work well, so I guess this is specific to the TL2.

It's not a big deal for me, admittedly the combination is not the most 'balanced' solution after all. But if would have been nice if it worked and I am surprised that something that is specifically mentioned in the manual, is just simply not working. If it would have been a little quirk, one would expect this to be corrected in firmware by now.

So Leica, if you read this, perhaps you can take a loot at it, and correct via firmware?
