How do they compare particularly as far as AF speed is concerned with latest firmware ? thanks for your answers ! didier
Advertisement Posted June 16, 2019 Posted June 16, 2019 Hi didier, Take a look here AF speed SL 50/1.4 VS SL 75/2. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Fedro Posted June 16, 2019 Share #2 Posted June 16, 2019 75. is a lot better, but neither is a speed monster. when the light goes down, they both suffer, I think the 75 has a more obvious drop in performance (starting from a better place). The zooms are clearly better than either prime but then again none of them has state of the art AF and in particular when things are moving Rendering is beautiful on both, but I would not buy them for AF alone ...

Both start to stumble at the usual hurdles that limit Contrast based AF, but not enough to annoy on a regular basis. With fast lenses like these accuracy of AF is more important, and from that point of view both are pretty faultless. Neither are noticeably quicker on the S1R .... despite Panasonics better implementation of CDAF.
