Charles P Posted May 24, 2019 Share #1 Posted May 24, 2019 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hello everyone, Something really weird is happening with my M-P 240 that wasn't happening before. I tried to capture this effect with my iPhone while moving the focus ring (see YouTube video here). You can clearly see that the guides are moving diagonally from top left to bottom right. The rangefinder square in the middle too...(!) Using my Summicron 35/2 ASPH This is really scary...
Advertisement Posted May 24, 2019 Posted May 24, 2019 Hi Charles P, Take a look here Leica M-P (Typ 240) - Defective Rangefinder?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Mute-on Posted May 24, 2019 Share #2 Posted May 24, 2019 (edited) That’s parallax correction at work. If they didn’t move, you would get parallax errors at all but one subject distance, although more pronounced at closer distances. It was always doing this, now you have just noticed. It is meant to move, so is working correctly. Nothing to worry about Edited May 24, 2019 by Mute-on
