Death Valley question

I have had an unexpected opportunity to spend 2 days in Death Valley.  My shooting schedule is there in time for sunset somewhere near The Inn at Death Valley this Friday, all day Saturday and sunrise Sunday.  Does anyone have a recommended schedule for this quick trip?

There are countless great locations for a photographer in the Death Valley, I liked most Zabriskie Point (not too distant from the visitor center) due to its various and impressive geological formations.

I would recommend getting the Photographer's Ephemeris smart phone app as it will give you the direction and timing of when the sun will be rising and setting.

I think you will be there during the hottest season and should adjust your schedule accordingly. I was there in March 2013 and that was during the final days of the cooler season and it was plenty hot at that time. Having said that very early morning were wonderful as was late afternoon/early evening. If you venture out into the dunes make sure you have a GPS device and know how to use it. It is very easy to get turned around in them.
