It came back perfectly calibrated. Since they had to replace the mount, perhaps they put in a little extra effort to adjust it before sending it back. Wonderful lens - I should use it more often. Did you sent it in with Body or without? Edited June 8, 2019 by SMAL

What are your experiences? Yes, you should try it and buy it live in a store and not through postorder. I have my third 75lux now and I will never sell it anymore. Not that the first two were bad, but this one is always spot on, also when shot in a hurry, like the photo of the Japanese on my zenfolio site for instance, see the Dickens festival too: all 75lux. It’s also the sharpest I’ve ever owned, but that may be my impression because I mostly use it with MM1, and I seldom see focus shift. It is however not the newest one, you often see the more recent ones offered for higher prices, in my experience this is not legitimate, earlier copies can be as good as more recent copies and serial number says nothing about being well adjusted or focus shift. I totally agree with you on the closest distance of the Noctiluxes, reason why I always found them too expensive for what they bring in versatility. The 75lux has no doubt the closest possible distance from object of all M lenses, including the 75 noctilux. In my humble view, the Karbe Noctilux is more a scientific showpiece of what is theoretically possible, but how can you conceive this an on M body within the M philosophy? The Mandler 75 however forms a good unit with the body and is still perfectly fit for dayly use. (Always nice to talk about this lens, so sorry for my digressions) Edited June 8, 2019 by otto.f 2

It is heavy (but all noctis are) sure but it has a clarity that helps focus it, especially on the OVF of the M10. Both great lenses

After playing around with the lens for over an hour, I‘ve put the camera on a tripod and focused through live view on a subject and then just looked through the rangefinder which was then still off. There is no better verification for a badly calibrated lens. Why else should I otherwise be able to focus my 50/1 Noctilux and 50/1.4 Summilux spot on, when it would be my fault? All my gear is perfectly calibrated. I had it checked in Wetzlar last November, when I came back from Portugal and have never any issues. I think that’s proof enough. Yes, I understood and, to be clear, I was not criticizing or questioning your findings.
SMAL Posted June 11, 2019 Author Share #48 Posted June 11, 2019 Update #2: the third Summilux I tested is perfectly adjusted, has just a little bit more signs of use, which I couldn’t care less. Needless to say, I of course bought it. Happy times.

DDA_1966 Posted November 5, 2019 Share #52 Posted November 5, 2019 I use the Lux on a Sony A7iii with the Techart Pro adapter. Works perfectly ... no issues focussing as the adapter does it for you.
