I have a state farm personal articles policy on my drone and cameras, one of which was the Q that i have now swapped out with the Q2. it covers theft/loss/accidental damage worldwide. price is very reasonable. that being said, i've never made a claim.

I’ve added an itemized rider to my premium home policies since the 70’s to cover all my camera gear (as well as vintage print and book collections).  It essentially covers all circumstances worldwide, no deductible, with quite reasonable premiums.  But policies can vary greatly by location, by company, by policy and by individual circumstances and history.  Chubb and AIG have served well for me.

$5 a month to cover full replacement value if you have, say, $20,000 worth of camera gear stolen, or accidentally drop it off a cliff?  Good luck.

Something on the order of 1-1.5% of insured value annually (from a trustworthy top notch company) seems reasonable to me.  Again, there are many variables that make generalizations difficult.

$5 a month would be around 1-1.5% the full replacement value of a q/q2, so why good luck? My state farm policy for the Q2/accessories and Phantom 4 drone comes out to just under 10 dollars a month.

my all risk rider to my Allstate homeowners policy runs $100/yr ($8.33/month) with no deductible for up to $5000 of coverage on the Q.  my other gear have separate coverages and premiums.
