Advertisement Posted July 24, 2007 Posted July 24, 2007 Hi Guest Essemmlee, Take a look here WATE's for sale. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Guest Essemmlee Posted July 24, 2007 Share #2 Posted July 24, 2007 2 left now. Brand new. Leica Premier Dealer. Still very expensive. Although Frank will negotiate, it ain't much, he offered to knock £50 off - Wow! Not a relative and no comission for me. It's just that some forum members seem to have difficulty finding them. marknorton Posted July 24, 2007 Share #3 Posted July 24, 2007 About half the difference between this price and what you could buy it for in the US (if it were available - $3900 - £1900) is the UK Government's sales tax greed and half of it is Leica UK's liking of inflated prices. AGeoJO Posted July 24, 2007 Share #7 Posted July 24, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) I am still waiting for mine through the rebate program... Well, I ordered it a week before the expiration date though .
pekem Posted July 24, 2007 Share #8 Posted July 24, 2007 It is a lot of money but I do not think that it is over the top. Has the Wate and Finder been offered anywhere at much less. Mine was £2450 with finder and I was pleased to get it. I think that I have seen the Wate at less than £2000 but suspect that it would not have been available. After all, if there is such a high demand why would a dealer not exploit that and bundle the finder in order to get the additional sale.
wattsy Posted July 24, 2007 Share #9 Posted July 24, 2007 After all, if there is such a high demand why would a dealer not exploit that and bundle the finder in order to get the additional sale. I don't think anyone is criticising the dealer - after all, £2450 is presumably the Leica UK RRP. Personally, I can't get excited about a 16-21/F4 zoom lens and the cost strikes me as a little bit over the top - even by Leica standards. It's one thing paying over two grand for a Summilux but for an F4?
