patricklgv Posted April 4, 2019 Share #1 Posted April 4, 2019 Advertisement (gone after registration) I have a brand new Q-P. When I shake it gently, there is a metallic sort of rattle. It is definitely in the interior of the camera. Any thoughts?
Advertisement Posted April 4, 2019 Posted April 4, 2019 Hi patricklgv, Take a look here brand new Q-P rattles (sort of metallic). I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
HighlandK Posted April 4, 2019 Share #2 Posted April 4, 2019 Welcome to the Forum. If the rattling stops when you switch the camera on there are no worries as it is just the lens element that provide image stabilisation. When switched off it floats and hence the 'rattle'. wda Posted April 4, 2019 Share #3 Posted April 4, 2019 Patrick, welcome. A quick search in the Q forum and you will find several earlier discussions of rattling Qs. It has not been an issue for me, but a few users have reported it, just like you have.

Don't worry, it's normal.
hcklr Posted April 4, 2019 Share #5 Posted April 4, 2019 My Q and QP both do this - as do most of them. Totally normal - part of the lens image stabilization. If it stops when the camera is on, it's no concern.
