Learner Posted April 2, 2019 Share #1 Posted April 2, 2019 Advertisement (gone after registration) Is it true that the Leica Q-P has a surface that offers a better grip than the Q? To put it another way, is there less need for the Q-P to have the add-on grip than the Q? I reckon this question is best put to those who have handled both models. Thank you. Advertisement Posted April 2, 2019 Posted April 2, 2019 Hi Learner, Take a look here Is the Q-P grippier than the Q?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Matsaly Posted April 2, 2019 Share #2 Posted April 2, 2019 I tried both Q & Q-P in the field before purchase. The Q-P has a subtly textured matte finish which feels "drier" or grippier. On the basis of "hand feel" I thought the Q-P felt somewhat more secure than the Q. I can't speculate on the hand grip as I felt no need to have this accessory. I do use the thumbs up with my Q-P. Want to buy a practically new Q-P so I can get a Q2? 😅
hcklr Posted April 3, 2019 Share #3 Posted April 3, 2019 I've owned both (and shoot the Q-P now) - the regular Q's finish always felt, for lack of a better term - greasy - to me. The QP isn't like that at all. Also I don't know what kind of matte finish they put on it but mine shows also zero signs of use after 5 months of use. It's pretty bullet proof!
