I have used the XV and SF58 with V2 firmware in 45º bounce flash mode and with the built-in white plastic bounce card and images were fine. The SF 58 with V1 firmware may not be compatible. V2 firmware is not updatable or available for a V1 firmware SF58. The disadvantage of using any flash in the XV shoe is that composition relies on the monitor rather than the EVF … which at an event can make the photographer appear to look a little odd as he/she holds the camera at at arms' length.
