Matsaly Posted March 31, 2019 Share #1  Posted March 31, 2019 Advertisement (gone after registration) I'm new to the Leica community. Does anyone with longer term experience know if Leica has a tradition of continuing to provide firmware updates for discontinued cameras? In this specific instance my recently purchased Q-P has Firmware 3.1 version installed. Should I expect an occasional firmware update or is this the end of the line?

wda Posted March 31, 2019 Share #3  Posted March 31, 2019 Matsaly, welcome to our community. Although there might be an exception, it is not usual for Leica to issue updates for discontinued models. However, that does not reduce the operational value and performance of serviceable equipment.
Matsaly Posted March 31, 2019 Author Share #4  Posted March 31, 2019 Thank you for the warm welcome. I understand Firmware 3.1 is the latest and that the enjoyment of the Q and its brethen are independent of possible future updates. Just wanted to tap into the pool of experienced users in order to align my expectations going forward.
