dpattinson Posted July 23, 2007 Share #1 Posted July 23, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) It's not a very taxing problem, but my clickwheel often 'zooms out' when I rotate it clockwise to 'zoom in' on an image. It eventually reverses and does the right thing, but curious if this is a common issue.
Advertisement Posted July 23, 2007 Posted July 23, 2007 Hi dpattinson, Take a look here Anyone else have the click wheel zoom out when rotated clockwise?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
gareth_c Posted July 23, 2007 Share #2 Posted July 23, 2007 Ahh! I thought this happened to me last week, but then I assumed I imagined it! Hasn't happened since either way!
wattsy Posted July 23, 2007 Share #3 Posted July 23, 2007 I've seen it sometimes. I've always assumed it was a firmware thing. My older M8 (1.09) doesn't ever do it. My newer M8 (1.092) does on occasions.
mhoersch Posted July 23, 2007 Share #4 Posted July 23, 2007 Happens to me quite often with two bodies, and happened with another one on loan during a workshop. With my own bodies it appears to happen mostly when I display an image right after turning on the camera. When I enter the set menu, first scrolling action often skips one menu item. Since so many people have reported similar things I wonder if it can be fixed at all. Regards, Manfred Manfred Hoersch's Web Gallery.
gravastar Posted July 23, 2007 Share #5 Posted July 23, 2007 Mine quite often behaves the same way. Most times when it does this it seems as if you have turned the wheel several clicks in the wrong direction. Bob.
Shootist Posted July 23, 2007 Share #6 Posted July 23, 2007 It's not a very taxing problem, but my clickwheel often 'zooms out' when I rotate it clockwise to 'zoom in' on an image. It eventually reverses and does the right thing, but curious if this is a common issue. I have seen this all the time on both my bodies. I relate it to when the camera is first turned on, a shot is taken and then the wheel is turned to zoom in, it go all the way out to show multiple images on the screen. If I let the camera warm up, I know that sounds funny as I live in Atlanta and it's plenty warm down here this time of year, I don't see this happening. In other words if I turn the camera on, take 4-10+ pictures or let it sit for X amount of time then Zoom In with the wheel it does just that, IE Zooms In without going to multiple image display.
