akiralx Posted March 19, 2019 Share #1 Posted March 19, 2019 Advertisement (gone after registration) Quick query as I’m in Tasmania without the manual - what does the grey dot to the left of the battery indicator mean? Thanks
Advertisement Posted March 19, 2019 Posted March 19, 2019 Hi akiralx, Take a look here Grey dot in Q LCD by battery indicator. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
jwillyf Posted March 20, 2019 Share #2 Posted March 20, 2019 (edited) The only icon showing to the left of the battery in the manual is the one that indicates the stabiliser/ IOS is on but it’s not a grey dot Edited March 20, 2019 by jwillyf
akiralx Posted March 23, 2019 Author Share #3 Posted March 23, 2019 I agree- I note it turns red when I start video recording. I also see 27:09 in the bottom right which I’m sure is the video capacity of my 16Gb card (it goes down when I change resolution in the menu). Does no one else have this? Jay B Posted March 23, 2019 Share #4 Posted March 23, 2019 Ahh, the reason why no one has answered is that you are in video mode, when most of us here would assume you are in photos mode. Yes, there is a grey dot (showing not recording) in video mode, and the time you note is the time left on the SD card for a video. Quote English manual, page 103 START/END VIDEO RECORDING Press the shutter button • Video recording begins. • The dot flashes red. • Recording time is running. ▸ Press the shutter button again • Video recording ends. • The dot lights in gray.
akiralx Posted March 23, 2019 Author Share #5 Posted March 23, 2019 Yes - I don’t want to be in video mode but I can’t work out from the manual how to leave it and return to photo mode.

On mine I can toggle between modes by pressing the center button of the navigation control. I found it by accident too.
