wparsonsgisnet Posted August 8, 2006 Share #1 Posted August 8, 2006 Advertisement (gone after registration) I have been using my new(ly acquired) 28mm Voigtlander0 finder with my D2, for aiming purposes when I zone focus. Now I no longer have to staple the camera to my face to use it in this mode. The only problem with this general arrangement is that the internal flash will not fire when the viewer is in the hot shoe. It would be nice to have a fitting that would prevent the contacts from registering the presence of something in the hot shoe. Anyone know of a hot shoe fitting that is neutral to the contacts? This will all be academic, of course, when the M8 arrives -- no evf lag anymore. C'mon Leica. tnx, Bill
Advertisement Posted August 8, 2006 Posted August 8, 2006 Hi wparsonsgisnet, Take a look here Dual mount for hot shoe without circuitry?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Goldie Posted August 9, 2006 Share #2 Posted August 9, 2006 Hi Bill Have you thought of just cutting a small piece of plastic (from a semi-rigid packaging tray) that will snuggly fit into the hot shoe, then sliding the viewfinder over it. This will prevent any circuit being formed Regards John PS Or even a piece of plastic insulation tape cut ot fit the foot of the viewfinder, this should be adequate to prevent the circuit being formed; and not get mislaid!
