Guest Essemmlee Posted July 22, 2007 Share #1 Posted July 22, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) I have just been out and taken about 40 pictures (various lenses). They are clearly visible on the LCD on the back of the M8. I've transferred them via a card reader to my MAC but can't read the files. I put the card back in the camera and there they are - perfectly visible. I've now taken another picture, transferred it via card reader and hey ho, it is read perfectly. Is this a one off abberation? Has anyone come across this before? Can I recover what seem to be good files? Thanks
Advertisement Posted July 22, 2007 Posted July 22, 2007 Hi Guest Essemmlee, Take a look here File Reading Problem. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
carstenw Posted July 22, 2007 Share #2 Posted July 22, 2007 You could try with the USB cable directly from the camera. Normally this is not such a great workflow, but it might save your photos. You could also try PhotoRescue on the card. Strange, I have not heard of this exact problem before.
Guest Essemmlee Posted July 22, 2007 Share #3 Posted July 22, 2007 Thanks Carsten - I have tried that; no joy. The files are there on the card and can clearly be seen as L1000233.dng etc. both on the camera and on the computer, but the computer say the files are an unsupported format. Adobe Bridge CS3 shows the file but not the image I have the latest Mac software, lightroom 1.1, Photoshop CS3 etc. How is it the file I took at home is readable?
