stunsworth Posted July 21, 2007 Share #1 Posted July 21, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) This month's edition of the French photo magazine Chasseur d'Image has an 8 page article of photographs an an interview with 'Theo' who was photographing in Liberia during the filming of the film 'Johnny Mad Dog'. The photographs are excellent, all in b&w, and all taken with an M8. To quote the photographer at the end of the article "In short I have found the M8 to be a pleasure. The first time I've used it and I've been published."

Guest tummydoc Posted July 21, 2007 Share #2 Posted July 21, 2007 Today there are four new reports of new failings, most of which have received responses that others have had them too, so that fellow doesn't know how lucky he is Though by shooting only in black and white he was more or less exempt from the IR and WB debacles. Photoskeptic Posted July 21, 2007 Share #3 Posted July 21, 2007 Vinay, you certainly are a gloomy sort. Steve lets us in on an M8 story which is positive and you turn it into another one of your negatives. My take: good for the guy who got published. We should all be so lucky. Thanks, Steve. stunsworth Posted July 21, 2007 Author Share #5 Posted July 21, 2007 Hi Barbara, I haven't been able to find a link to the photographs I'm afraid. You can see some more of the photographer's work - though probably not M8 - here... sommaire Click 'en savoir plus...' to see more details.
sean_reid Posted July 21, 2007 Share #6 Posted July 21, 2007 Today there are four new reports of new failings, most of which have received responses that others have had them too, so that fellow doesn't know how lucky he is Though by shooting only in black and white he was more or less exempt from the IR and WB debacles. These camera freezes are nothing new. We've been discussing them for months. They seem to be less common with the new firmware but I say that just based on anecdotal evidence. Glad to hear about the article. Cheers, Sean
Guest tummydoc Posted July 21, 2007 Share #7 Posted July 21, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) Vinay, you certainly are a gloomy sort. Steve lets us in on an M8 story which is positive and you turn it into another one of your negatives. My take: good for the guy who got published. We should all be so lucky. Thanks, Steve. Interesting "take" for someone whose choice of monniker is "Photoskeptic" I had two M8s die unrecoverably in succession and rather than take my full money back and run to the Canon or Nikon camp, I opted an exchange for yet a third M8, which should it die now, I would be stuck having to send it to Solms for weeks or months with the possibly futile hope it would be returned to me cured of all its ills. So I am, if anything, a hopeless optimist.
Guest sirvine Posted July 21, 2007 Share #8 Posted July 21, 2007 I'd say your karma needs a tune up.
Guest tummydoc Posted July 21, 2007 Share #9 Posted July 21, 2007 I wager that would take less time and be less of a gamble than a tune-up for my M8
