Liesa, first of all, welcome to the Forum.

My Minilux instruction book has a trouble-shooting guide towards the back.  Under "Shutter release blocked and frame counter flashes" it says "Film advance malfunction", and suggests "Rewind film via rewind switch" by which they mean the little black button with an "R" marked by it,  activated with a ball-point pen or similar object. This will trigger a full rewind, with the film completely back in the cassette. I would then start again with a fresh film, in case the sprocket holes have got torn. Check carefully inside the camera that there are no tiny fragments of film from any torn sprockets. Be careful when loading that the film is aligned as accurately as possible. If it loads and the frame counter is at "1" and not flashing, then the film should have been loaded ok. Hope this helps!
