jmahto Posted December 27, 2018 Share #1 Posted December 27, 2018 Advertisement (gone after registration) Before going on a photo trip, I decided to clean my Sony’s sensor. Normally I am not too picky and don’t clean my sensors frequently (maybe once a year or two). Well, I just decided to wet clean. I had an old Sensor cleaning kit from Green Clean lying around and I used it (the wet swab was sealed in the pouch). To my horror, it left a big gooey residue on the sensor. It was so bad that I shouted x$&@.... immediately I tried to clean with some lens cleaning fluid and that worked. It was a close call. Now lesson learned. Always check the expiry date of the product. LocalHero1953 Posted December 27, 2018 Share #2 Posted December 27, 2018 I avoid the water based cleaning fluids for this reason: they add and don't remove streaks. The alcohol-based fluids get rid of them. Unless I see greasy streaks I just use the rocket blower and the arctic butterfly.
