These have notices on them that they’ve been preserved for future generations but the phones have been stripped out. They end up as much loved (and of course photogenic) artefacts with no real purpose any more. Some in the city are still papered with adverts for the ‘night economy’. Outside the cities they’re often repurposed as mini art galleries, defibrillator units or community book repositories.
