edstock Posted December 15, 2018 Share #1 Posted December 15, 2018 Advertisement (gone after registration) I just within he past week pulled out my M 7 and put in new batteries. All of my equipment, both M and R have been unused since around 2010. I have been making myself familiar with the systems. My question concerns a symbol in the viewfinder on the M 7. I know what the arrows are, the red dot, the flash. What I don't recognize is a constant flashing little squiggle to the left or directly under the arrow(s). It is not the flash indicator. Any ideas or help appreciated.
Advertisement Posted December 15, 2018 Posted December 15, 2018 Hi edstock, Take a look here Symbol in viewfinder. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
pico Posted December 15, 2018 Share #2 Posted December 15, 2018 (edited) The indicator might be indicating that your scene is considered beyond the meter's low range. Try it outside in daylight. Edited December 15, 2018 by pico
wattsy Posted December 16, 2018 Share #3 Posted December 16, 2018 It just means the ISO is set to something other than the speed of the film (as specified by the DX coding).
edstock Posted December 16, 2018 Author Share #4 Posted December 16, 2018 You called it. Film speed vs DSN. I always prefer setting my own ISO/ASA number. That's the one thing that I could find no mention of in the manual. Not viewfinder symbols or film speed. Thanks.
